Ollie Idowu joined IPHCA as President + CEO in May 2021 following more than 10 years of continuous leadership as a healthcare business leader and development strategist.
Prior to joining IPHCA, Idowu led growth at a broad range of organizations, from two Fortune 500 managed care companies, to a start-up data-analytics company. He previously served as the Director of State Governmental Affairs at IPHCA and was excited to return to IPHCA in hopes of putting into practice many of the lessons learned from his decade of innovation in health care.
In this last three-and-a-half years at IPHCA, Idowu and his team have secured substantial successes at the legislative level including a $50 million dollar rate increase, another $50 million in appropriations for the Community Health Center Construction Grant program, and co-authored the Equity in Representation in Health Care Act to increase diversity in the healthcare workforce in medically underserved areas; been awarded more than 20 grants for Illinois’ 55 health centers, continued to expand its footprint into value-based care for health care organizations and much more. IPHCA will continue to create programs that support their members by developing and advancing health strategies that impact the quality of patient care.
Idowu sits on the Illinois Medicaid Managed Care Oversight Commission and many more state/policy workgroups. Chicago born, Idowu grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and now lives in Geneva, Illinois with his family. He received his bachelor’s degree from Eureka College in 1997, his master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
