PMD1 - Building Tomorrow’s Workforce: Health Center Opportunities through Title VII and VIII Programs

Session Description: In 2024, health centers served a record-breaking 33.9 million patients and employed 326k professionals across the medical, behavioral health, dental, and enabling services fields. Though the number of health center staff has increased over the years, demand for the wide array of services provided continues to outpace the supply of providers and services at health centers.

Recognizing how the primary care specialty has faced workforce shortages, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Title VII and Title VIII workforce programs aim to bolster workforce development through a variety of grant programs. These grants range from primary care training and enhancement, nursing, behavioral health, oral health training, and more. Many of these programs have benefited health centers over the years. Join this health center panel discussion with grant recipients to learn about the return on investment of these HRSA workforce programs, challenges and successes with implementation, and lessons learned on organizational sustainability of these workforce development programs.
